About Old School Radical

I am a classical liberal/libertarian, which means that I believe in the values expressed in the Declaration of Independence and Constitution and in the vertical and horizontal separation of powers. I also believe that the principal legitimate function of government is to protect our innate rights, and otherwise leave us free to pursue our own happiness so long as, in doing so, we do not violate the rights of others.

I believe that government is a necessary evil that should be kept to a minimalist structure, providing strictly limited services, each performed at the lowest level of government possible, where that government is most answerable to the people it serves.
