The Indianola Flock program has been suspended!

Great news, though "suspends" is much different than "ends", so privacy minded people should continue to be very active and vigilant throughout this process. At the very least, the people will have their say, and it must be resolute.

In my opinion, these camera systems were brought in quietly with the expectation that there would eventually be strong opposition, and that the predetermined "compromise" would be warrant requirements. You know, basic adherence to the law. That's not enough.

For the cameras to return to active status, these are my minimum demands to support reactivation:

1. Warrants should be required to track and store any plate in the system

2. The system should completely disregard and not store data for any plate that is not in the system

3. There should be an outright ban on any facial recognition, listening capabilities, or electronic device identification.
